ATP7B is a copper-transporting P-type ATPase that resides primarily in the trans-Golgi network of hepatocytes, where it exports copper into bile and loads the metal onto ceruloplasmin for secretion. Loss-of-function mutations in the ATP7B gene are the molecular cause of Wilson disease, an autosomal-recessive disorder marked by hepatic copper accumulation, neurotoxicity, and progressive neurological dysfunction.
This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against an ATP7B epitope and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples. It is supplied as 100 µl of affinity-purified antisera, detects the full-length endogenous transporter under denaturing and native conditions, and is suited to studies of copper metabolism, hepatocellular copper handling, and Wilson disease model characterization.
