ATP7B encodes a copper-transporting P-type ATPase that normally resides in the trans-Golgi network of hepatocytes and redistributes toward apical canalicular membranes when intracellular copper rises. Loss-of-function mutations in this transporter cause Wilson's disease, a disorder of hepatic copper accumulation with neurological and ophthalmic involvement, which is why reliable detection of ATP7B protein is a routine requirement in hepatic, biliary, and neurodegenerative disease research.

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and is packaged as a 100 µl vial. The antibody is unconjugated and validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human, mouse, and rat samples. Polyclonal recognition of multiple epitopes across the ATP7B polypeptide supports reproducible signal in denatured lysate work and in fixed tissue sections where epitope masking can otherwise compromise staining of this large transmembrane transporter.

Store the vial at -20 °C, withdraw only working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the glycerol-containing stock, and protect from light during handling. The azide preservative allows direct dilution into standard block and wash buffers for both chromogenic and fluorescence workflows without further preparation.
