Supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent, this antibody targets ATP6AP1, the accessory subunit 1 of the vacuolar H+-ATPase (V-ATPase) multi-subunit proton pump. ATP6AP1 (also referenced in the literature as ATP6IP1, XAP-3, and VATPS1) supports assembly of the V-ATPase complex and is required for acidification of intracellular compartments such as lysosomes, endosomes, and secretory vesicles. The protein has been linked to Golgi processing, neurotransmitter loading into synaptic vesicles, and the regulation of autophagy and endosomal trafficking pathways, making it a relevant marker in studies of organellar pH homeostasis and secretory function.

The reagent is provided as a 50 µl liquid at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. Reactivity has been confirmed in human, mouse, and rat samples, allowing cross-species comparative studies of V-ATPase-dependent acidification, endolysosomal function, and disease models where altered organellar pH is observed, including neurodegeneration, viral entry, and certain immunodeficiency phenotypes associated with V-ATPase dysfunction. Storage at -20 °C in working aliquots is recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the glycerol-containing stock and preserve binding activity.
