The ATP2A2 gene encodes the SERCA2 protein, a sarco/endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase that actively transports Ca2+ from the cytosol into the ER lumen. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against ATP2A2 and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications in human, mouse, and rat samples. Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, it supports detection of endogenous SERCA2 in tissue sections and immunoblots.
SERCA2 maintains intracellular calcium homeostasis and contributes to muscle contraction–relaxation cycles as well as broader calcium-dependent signaling. Loss-of-function mutations in ATP2A2 are causally linked to Darier disease, an autosomal dominant keratinocyte adhesion disorder.
The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes across the target, which can improve signal recovery in IHC where epitope accessibility varies between tissue preparations and fixation conditions.
