This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and affinity-purified for selective detection of ATM phosphorylated at serine 1987. ATM is the serine/threonine kinase central to the cellular DNA damage response, and phosphorylation at this residue serves as a marker of its catalytically activated state following double-strand break signaling. The antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, packaged as 100 µL per vial. It is validated for Western blot and reacts with both human and mouse ATM, supporting use across commonly studied cell line and tissue models. Researchers investigating checkpoint control, genotoxic stress, ionizing radiation response, and downstream ATM substrates such as p53 and Chk2 apply this phospho-specific reagent to follow kinase activation kinetics over time-course experiments. For short-term use, keep the vial refrigerated at 4°C; for longer storage, freeze aliquots at -20°C to minimize repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity. The polysodium azide preservative permits routine handling on the bench without microbial contamination concerns.
