This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com selectively recognizes the phosphorylated form of ATM kinase at serine 1981, a well-characterized autophosphorylation site that marks activation of the cellular DNA damage response following double-strand breaks. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG, suited to Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows performed on human samples.

ATM (Ataxia-telangiectasia mutated) is a serine/threonine kinase central to genomic stability, and autophosphorylation at S1981 occurs within minutes of ionizing radiation or other genotoxic stress. Researchers use anti-phospho-S1981 ATM to monitor pathway engagement in studies of DNA repair, cell cycle checkpoint control, radiosensitivity, and tumor biology.

Each vial is shipped refrigerated and should be stored at -20°C in single-use aliquots to preserve activity through repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The host species is rabbit, clonality is polyclonal, and the antibody is provided ready for use with standard HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies in chromogenic or immunofluorescence detection protocols.
