ATG4C (autophagy-related cysteine peptidase 4) is a cysteine protease of the ATG4 family that primes and deconjugates LC3/GABARAP-family proteins, controlling autophagosome biogenesis during macroautophagy and mitophagy. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human ATG4C sequence and cross-reacts with the mouse ortholog, supporting comparative autophagy work in two standard mammalian systems from a single primary reagent.

The 100 µL aliquot is supplied as unconjugated antiserum, so it can be paired with user-selected secondary antibodies for multiplexing, HRP-based chemiluminescent detection, or fluorescence labeling tailored to a specific microscope or imaging platform. The antibody is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, enabling laboratories to evaluate ATG4C abundance, post-translational processing, and subcellular distribution in cultured mammalian cells, paraffin-embedded tissue sections, and primary specimens.

As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody binds multiple epitopes on ATG4C, which broadens tolerance to minor conformational changes introduced by SDS-PAGE transfer or fixation and helps deliver consistent signal across immunoblot, immunostaining, and immunofluorescence preparations.
