The ATG4A cysteine protease is a central regulator of macroautophagy, where it cleaves pro-LC3 and other ATG8-family members to generate their active, membrane-associated forms and recycles LC3-II during autophagosome maturation. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/mL in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a 100 µL vial, with reactivity confirmed in Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. The antibody is validated for Western blot, Immunohistochemistry, and Immunoprecipitation workflows, where it can be used to monitor endogenous ATG4A expression in cell lysates and probe the processing of GABARAP-family substrates in tissue sections. For handling, store the vial at -20°C, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light until first use.
