The Antibodies.com anti-ATG3 polyclonal antibody is a rabbit host reagent raised against Autophagy Related 3, the E2-like ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme that drives LC3 lipidation during autophagosome biogenesis. Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, the antibody recognizes the human, mouse, and rat ATG3 protein and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows.

ATG3 functions as the dedicated conjugating enzyme for the LC3/ATG8 ubiquitin-like protein, transferring activated LC3 onto phosphatidylethanolamine in the expanding phagophore membrane. Because LC3-II generation is one of the most widely monitored readouts of autophagic flux, a reliable ATG3 reagent supports studies of basal and induced autophagy, mitophagy, ER-phagy, and the cellular response to nutrient deprivation or rapamycin treatment. Researchers investigating cancer cell survival under metabolic stress, neurodegeneration models, and host-pathogen interactions that manipulate the autophagy machinery rely on this target.

For best results, store the vial at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, dilute according to the application, and pair with appropriate secondary reagents. The unconjugated format offers flexibility for direct labeling or use in standard chromogenic and chemiluminescent detection systems.
