ATG3 is a key E2-like conjugating enzyme that drives the autophagy pathway by transferring LC3/GABARAP family proteins onto phosphatidylethanolamine lipid membranes, a step required for autophagosome biogenesis and bulk cytoplasmic cargo turnover. The Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody targets the full-length human ATG3 protein and was raised in rabbit, enabling detection of the endogenous target by Western blot and immunohistochemistry in tissue sections and cell preparations from human, mouse, and rat samples. The reagent is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol for long-term storage stability, shipped unconjugated so it can be paired with secondary detection chemistries of the user's choice. Researchers studying mitophagy, xenophagy, ER-phagy, or general autophagy flux in cancer, neurodegeneration, infection, or metabolic disease models commonly use this reagent to track ATG3 expression levels, monitor autophagy induction, and validate CRISPR knockouts or siRNA knockdown efficiency at the protein level.
