The Anti-ATF6 Antibody [37-1] from Antibodies.com is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 reagent that recognizes Activating Transcription Factor 6 (ATF6), an endoplasmic reticulum transmembrane transcription factor central to the unfolded protein response (UPR). The unconjugated antibody is provided as a 100 µg liquid preparation in a single vial, validated for western blot and immunoprecipitation workflows on human and mouse samples.

ATF6 exists as a ~90 kDa ER-resident precursor that, under conditions of ER stress, is cleaved by Site-1 and Site-2 proteases to release a ~50–55 kDa cytosolic fragment. This fragment translocates to the nucleus and drives transcription of ER chaperones such as BiP/GRP78 and XBP1. Investigators working on proteostasis, ER stress signaling, or ER-associated degradation (ERAD) commonly use this clone to monitor both the full-length and processed forms of ATF6 across cell lysates and tissue homogenates.

For storage, keep the antibody frozen at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles. As an unconjugated reagent, it can be paired with HRP- or fluorophore-labeled secondary antibodies for downstream detection on western blot membranes or in immunoprecipitated complexes. For research use only.
