Ataxin-1 (ATXN1) is a nuclear protein of roughly 815 amino acids that interacts with the transcriptional repressor Capicua and several RNA-binding partners, including RBM17 and ATXN1L. In Spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 (SCA1), an expanded CAG trinucleotide repeat produces an elongated polyglutamine tract that drives Purkinje cell loss in the cerebellum and progressive motor dysfunction.
Antibodies.com supplies this affinity-purified rabbit polyclonal antibody at 100 µl per vial, unconjugated and reactive against both human and mouse ATXN1. The reagent is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence microscopy, and ELISA workflows, supporting research into polyglutamine expansion pathology, cerebellar transcriptional regulation, and synaptic plasticity in patient-derived samples and rodent disease models.
