Anti-ASMTL Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets ASMTL (acetylserotonin O-methyltransferase-like), a protein encoded within pseudoautosomal region 1 of the human sex chromosomes. ASMTL shares sequence homology with ASMT, the terminal enzyme in melatonin biosynthesis, but shows a broader tissue distribution and has been investigated for activity in protein methylation contexts and for recurrent alteration in acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

The reagent is raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated at 100 µl per vial. It supports Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows on human samples, enabling detection of endogenous ASMTL in cell lysates and in formalin-fixed or frozen tissue sections.

Typical uses include profiling ASMTL expression across normal versus malignant specimens, mapping the divergence between ASMTL and its paralog ASMT in neural and peripheral tissues, and characterizing deletion or rearrangement events at the ASMTL locus that have been documented in acute lymphoblastic leukemia cohorts.
