Raised in rabbit against the human ASL protein, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets argininosuccinate lyase, the cytosolic and mitochondrial urea cycle enzyme that cleaves argininosuccinate to arginine and fumarate. The 100 µl aliquot is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows, supporting detection of endogenous ASL in human and mouse samples. Loss-of-function variants in ASL cause argininosuccinic aciduria, an autosomal recessive urea cycle disorder characterized by accumulation of argininosuccinic acid, hyperammonemia, and progressive neurological injury; the reagent is therefore useful for studies of hepatic nitrogen disposal, CRISPR-edited disease models, and tissue expression surveys of the arginine biosynthesis pathway. As a polyclonal reagent, it recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve signal in denatured lysates and fixed sections where a single monoclonal epitope may be masked. The unconjugated format allows researchers to pair the antibody with their preferred secondary reporter for chromogenic, fluorescent, or HRP-based detection, and the cross-reactivity profile covers both human and mouse origins commonly used in translational and basic research.
