Anti-ARSE Antibody

From Antibodies.com, this Rabbit polyclonal antibody targets ARSE (Arylsulfatase E), a 589 amino acid Golgi apparatus protein expressed in the pancreas, liver and kidney. The unconjugated IgG antibody is raised in Rabbit and has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry (ICC) applications, with reactivity confirmed against Human samples.

The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 208–253 of Human ARSE, and the antibody specifically detects endogenous levels of ARSE protein, which has a molecular weight of approximately 66 kDa. It is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide and 50% Glycerol, and has been affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen, achieving a purity greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

ARSE, also referred to as CDPX, CDPX1 or CDPXR, belongs to the sulfatase family and may be essential for the correct composition of cartilage and bone matrix during development. Its activity is inhibited by warfarin and it shows no activity toward steroid sulfates. Defects in the gene encoding Arylsulfatase E are the cause of chondrodysplasia punctata X-linked recessive type 1 (CDPX1), characterised by aberrant bone mineralization, severe underdevelopment of nasal cartilage and distal phalangeal hypoplasia.
