ARG2 (Arginase 2) is a mitochondrial hydrolase that converts L-arginine to ornithine and urea, and this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit for western blot detection of the human protein. The antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.3, and is provided as a 50 µl aliquot. Researchers commonly use anti-ARG2 reagents to investigate arginase biology in alternatively activated macrophages, hepatic and renal tissue, prostate, and several cancer models where altered arginine metabolism shapes disease phenotypes. The polyclonal format increases the chance of recognizing multiple epitopes on the ~36 kDa mitochondrial target, and the unconjugated state lets users pair it with a secondary antibody of their choice for chemiluminescent or fluorescent western blot workflows. Reactivity with human lysates and tissue extracts has been characterized, supporting studies of urea cycle function and immune cell polarization. Storage refrigerated in the supplied buffer is recommended to preserve activity across multiple experiments.
