The ARFGEF2 protein, also called BIG2, is a roughly 202 kDa brefeldin A-resistant guanine nucleotide exchange factor in the Sec7/BIG family that activates ARF GTPases to drive vesicle budding from the trans-Golgi network and recycling endosomes. This rabbit polyclonal reagent is supplied in a 100 µl vial by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated primary antibody validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), with reactivity confirmed against human and mouse samples. ARFGEF2 supports neuronal migration and callosal morphogenesis during cortical development, and missense variants in the gene have been linked to periventricular heterotopia with microcephaly, so the antibody sees regular use in studies of Golgi organization, membrane trafficking, and neurodevelopmental disease. The polyclonal format tolerates minor epitope variation across homologs, and the unconjugated formulation lets laboratories pair the reagent with HRP, biotin, or fluorescent secondary labels of their choice. For handling, store refrigerated in small aliquots and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity.
