Anti-AREG Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the amphiregulin (AREG) ligand, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. AREG is a member of the EGF family that signals through EGFR to regulate keratinocyte proliferation, mucosal repair, and tumour-promoting programmes in epithelial cancers, so the reagent is most often chosen by groups working on skin or gut barrier biology, lung and breast carcinoma models, and primary cell or tissue studies of EGFR-dependent signalling.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse samples, the antibody supports detection of the ~18–25 kDa amphiregulin precursor and processed forms in cell lysates and formalin-fixed tissue sections, including published work on triple-negative breast cancer xenografts and inflammatory bowel disease biopsies. Storage at -20°C in the supplied glycerol buffer is recommended, with short-term use at 4°C for active aliquots and avoidance of repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve reagent activity.
