Raised in rabbit, this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets the human androgen receptor only when its serine 213 residue carries a phosphate group. The phospho-S213 mark is laid down by AKT signaling and modulates receptor transcriptional activity, so this antibody is used in studies of prostate cancer progression, castration-resistant disease, and hormone-driven signaling pathways.
Validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence on human samples, the antibody is supplied as 100 µl of stock in a single vial. It is phosphorylation-specific rather than a pan-AR reagent, so a phosphatase-treated lysate should be run in parallel as a negative control to confirm band identity on blot. The product is unconjugated, leaving investigators free to pair it with the secondary detection chemistry — HRP, biotin, or fluorophore — that best matches their imaging workflow and downstream read-out.
