This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets aprataxin (APTX), a member of the histidine triad (HIT) superfamily that participates in single-strand DNA break repair by resolving abortive 5'-adenylated intermediates left by failed DNA ligase activity. Raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated at 100 µL, it is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows and shows reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples. The polyclonal format provides broader epitope coverage for detecting endogenous APTX in neural, hepatic, and lymphoid tissues, where expression studies help characterize DNA damage response pathways and models of Ataxia with Oculomotor Apraxia type 1 (AOA1). Useful as a research use only reagent for laboratories investigating base excision repair, single-strand break processing, and the cellular response to genotoxic stress.
