Adenine phosphoribosyltransferase (APRT) is a cytoplasmic enzyme that operates in the purine salvage pathway, transferring a phosphoribosyl group from PRPP onto free adenine to form AMP. The human APRT gene maps to chromosome 16q24.3, and biallelic loss-of-function variants cause 2,8-dihydroxyadenine urolithiasis, so immunological detection of the protein supports nephrology research and broader studies of nucleotide metabolism.
This Rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human target and validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. Each vial contains 100 µL of unconjugated antiserum in a liquid format, generally stored at -20 °C with aliquots drawn to limit freeze-thaw damage. Because APRT is broadly expressed across human tissues and many immortalized cell lines, the antibody is frequently used as a cytoplasmic loading control alongside tissue-specific markers in immunoblot experiments and as a counterstain in immunofluorescence imaging.
