Adenine phosphoribosyltransferase (APRT) is a key enzyme in the purine salvage pathway, catalyzing the conversion of adenine and 5-phosphoribosyl-1-pyrophosphate into AMP. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets APRT and is supplied as 100 µL of a 1 mg/ml stock prepared in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
The antibody has been validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, and cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies across these species. APRT biology is relevant to investigations of adenine metabolism, 2,8-dihydroxyadenine urolithiasis linked to APRT deficiency, and purine nucleotide recycling in cancer and kidney research.
The polyclonal format offers broader epitope recognition than monoclonal alternatives, and the included glycerol cryoprotectant allows storage at -20°C with minimal freeze-thaw handling.
