Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein central to neuroscience research, particularly studies of Alzheimer's disease and related neurodegenerative pathways. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent was raised against the APP target and recognizes multiple epitopes across the full-length protein and its proteolytic fragments, including amyloidogenic cleavage products such as Aβ peptides.

Validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), the antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting work in both rodent disease models and human tissue archives. In Western blotting, it can be used to detect full-length APP (~100-130 kDa) and processed fragments in cell or tissue lysates. In IHC, it is applied to formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded brain sections to map expression patterns relevant to amyloid pathology.

The 100 µl format is supplied as a liquid aliquot. For long-term use, store at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light. The polyclonal format provides broader epitope coverage than monoclonal alternatives, which can be useful when probing cleaved APP species or working across species. Researchers commonly pair this primary reagent with an HRP- or fluorescence-conjugated secondary antibody for downstream signal detection.

Distributed by Antibodies.com as part of the Primary Antibodies category, this reagent supports research use only applications and is intended for laboratory investigation of APP biology and amyloid processing.
