APOBEC3C is a zinc-dependent cytidine deaminase encoded within the APOBEC3 cluster on chromosome 22q13.1, where it deaminates cytosine to uracil in single-stranded DNA and contributes to innate antiviral immunity by restricting the replication of HIV-1 and limiting the mobilisation of endogenous retroelements such as LINE-1. This Antibodies.com reagent is a rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody raised against the human APOBEC3C protein and is supplied as a 100 µL liquid aliquot for use in immunofluorescence workflows on human cells and tissues. The IgG fraction is unconjugated, allowing users to pair the antibody with fluorophore- or enzyme-tagged secondary reagents of their choice for indirect detection. On receipt, aliquot and store at -20 °C; protect from light and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. Reactivity is reported against human APOBEC3C, with species cross-reactivity beyond human not characterised by the manufacturer.
