This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically recognizes Apolipoprotein A-II (APOA2), the second most abundant protein constituent of circulating high-density lipoprotein particles. In plasma, APOA2 exists predominantly as a disulfide-linked homodimer of roughly 17 kDa that influences HDL particle remodeling, cholesteryl ester transfer protein activity, and hepatic lipid handling.

Recommended for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, the reagent has been validated against human, mouse, and rat samples. It is widely applied in cardiovascular and metabolic research, including studies of atherosclerosis progression, insulin resistance phenotypes, plasma lipoprotein composition, and tissue-specific apolipoprotein expression in liver and intestinal mucosa.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml, prepared in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. Storage at -20°C is appropriate, and aliquoting upon first use is advised to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The unconjugated format permits downstream conjugation to HRP, biotin, or fluorophores as required, while the polyclonal antibody preparation offers broader epitope coverage suitable for capturing both monomeric and dimeric APOA2 species.
