This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects APEX1 (apurinic/aprimidinic endodeoxyribonuclease 1), an approximately 35.5 kDa enzyme that cleaves the DNA phosphodiester backbone 5′ of an abasic site during base excision repair. The same protein also functions as REF-1, a redox coactivator that restores DNA binding to transcription factors including NF-κB, AP-1, and HIF-1α, making APEX1 a convergence point between genome maintenance and oxidative-stress signalling in mammalian cells.

Supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated antibody was raised in rabbit and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human, mouse, and rat samples. Laboratories studying DNA damage response, tumour resistance to alkylating or oxidising agents, or redox regulation of gene expression use this format because the polyclonal response broadens epitope coverage and the unconjugated state lets a secondary reporter of choice be paired with it. Aliquot upon receipt and store at -20°C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles; the glycerol-supplemented buffer protects the protein during routine handling. For research use only.
