The polyclonal reagent offered by Antibodies.com targets AP2M1, the mu-1 subunit of the heterotetrameric adaptor protein complex 2 (AP-2) that drives clathrin-coated vesicle formation at the plasma membrane. Raised in a rabbit host and supplied as an unconjugated antiserum in a 100 µl vial, the antibody is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows against human samples.

AP2M1 functions as the cargo-recognition subunit, binding tyrosine-based and dileucine sorting motifs in the cytoplasmic tails of membrane receptors routed through the endocytic pathway. Detection of this protein is therefore relevant to studies of receptor internalization, synaptic vesicle recycling, and the trafficking of disease-associated cargo such as the LDL receptor and transferrin receptor.

  • Clonality: Polyclonal
  • Host species: Rabbit
  • Conjugate: Unconjugated
  • Reactivity: Human
  • Target: AP2M1
  • Applications: Western blot, immunohistochemistry
  • Volume: 100 µl

Store refrigerated in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light. The unconjugated format allows researchers to couple the reagent to their preferred fluorophore or enzymatic label for tailored detection in immunofluorescence, ELISA, and downstream immunoassay development.
