Target aldehyde oxidase 1 (AOX1) with this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent, distributed by antibodies.com. AOX1 is a cytosolic molybdenum-containing enzyme expressed predominantly in liver tissue, where it catalyzes the oxidation of aldehydes and aromatic N-heterocycles and contributes to phase I metabolism of xenobiotics, including several clinical drug substrates. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of rabbit antiserum and has been validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA workflows on human and rat samples.

Investigators working on hepatic clearance, prodrug activation, or species-dependent differences in xenobiotic biotransformation can use this reagent to probe endogenous AOX1 levels in cell lysates and formalin-fixed tissue sections. Storage at -20 °C with brief thaw-on-use handling preserves antibody activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles; aliquoting on first use is recommended to protect working stock from repeated freeze-thaw events.
