The ANO1 target protein, also known as TMEM16A or Anoctamin-1, functions as a calcium-activated chloride channel expressed across epithelial tissues, smooth muscle, and sensory neurons. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against ANO1 and validated for Western Blot (WB) and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications on Human and Mouse samples.

ANO1 is a membrane protein of roughly 114 kDa encoded on chromosome 11q13.3. It mediates calcium-activated chloride secretion in airway and intestinal epithelia, contributes to pacemaker activity in interstitial cells of Cajal, and modulates vascular smooth muscle tone. Aberrant ANO1 overexpression has been documented in several malignancies, including breast, lung, esophageal, head-and-neck, and pancreatic cancers, making it a marker of interest in tumor biology research.

Supplied as a 100 µl vial in unconjugated format, the antibody supports flexible pairing with secondary reporters and is compatible with standard chromogenic IHC detection as well as chemiluminescent Western Blot protocols. Its dual Human and Mouse reactivity makes it useful for cross-species studies, including xenograft work and knockout mouse validation.
