The clone CA10 C11 recognizes the C-terminal epitope of the 42-residue amyloid-beta peptide, the species that aggregates most aggressively into the amyloid plaques characteristic of Alzheimer's disease. Produced in mouse as an IgG2b monoclonal, this unconjugated primary antibody is supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µg of lyophilised product that reconstitutes cleanly for Western blot and ELISA workflows. Reactivity has been confirmed with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting translational studies that bridge rodent models of amyloid pathology with patient-derived tissue. The antibody preferentially binds the free C-terminus of Aβ42 with markedly reduced recognition of the shorter Aβ40 isoform, a useful feature when distinguishing the two cleavage products in conditioned cell media, brain homogenates, or in vitro aggregation assays. Reconstituted aliquots should be stored refrigerated; for longer-term storage, freeze-thaw cycles should be minimized to preserve binding activity, and small working aliquots are recommended over repeated access of the stock vial.
