Pancreatic alpha-amylase, encoded by AMY2A, hydrolyzes starch into maltose and dextrins during digestion. Produced by Antibodies.com as a polyclonal primary antibody raised in rabbit, this reagent is supplied as an unconjugated 100 µl vial and is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. The antibody recognizes the AMY2A protein from human and mouse, supporting studies of exocrine pancreatic function, salivary and pancreatic amylase expression, and investigations into metabolic and digestive disorders. As a polyclonal reagent, it offers multi-epitope recognition of the target, enabling detection across varied sample types including formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections for IHC and cell or tissue lysates for WB. Researchers studying pancreatic acinar cell biology, enzyme regulation, or comparative amylase expression between human and murine models will find this reagent aligned with those experimental designs.
