Produced by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated polyclonal reagent raised in rabbit, this antibody recognizes Aminoacylase-1 (ACY1), a cytosolic zinc-dependent metalloenzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of N-acyl-L-amino acids to free amino acids and acyl groups. Supplied in a 100 µl vial, the reagent is validated for western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows against human samples.

Aminoacylase-1 is predominantly expressed in the kidney and liver, where it contributes to amino acid recycling and detoxification pathways. Loss-of-function mutations in the ACY1 gene have been linked to ACY1 deficiency, a rare inborn error of metabolism that can present with neurological symptoms. The antibody is therefore of interest to researchers studying renal and hepatic biochemistry, metabolic disorders, and the broader role of zinc metalloenzymes in cellular homeostasis.

Because the clonality is polyclonal, the reagent yields a pool of immunoglobulins that recognize multiple epitopes on ACY1, an advantage when working with denatured target protein in western blot or with fixed specimens in immunofluorescence. The unconjugated format allows laboratories to pair the primary antibody with their choice of secondary antibody and detection chemistry, including HRP, fluorescent, or biotin-based systems. Standard antibody handling applies: aliquot the reagent upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles, protect from light, and follow the supplier datasheet for refrigerated storage to preserve activity across the shelf life of the product.
