A rabbit-derived polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com raised against Alpha-Methylacyl-CoA Racemase (AMACR), an enzyme that plays a central role in peroxisomal and mitochondrial branched-chain fatty acid metabolism and the conversion of R-stereoisomers to their S-form CoA thioesters. The unconjugated antibody is supplied in a 100 µl volume and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows on human samples, where it is widely used by pathology laboratories as an ancillary marker in the differential diagnosis of prostate adenocarcinoma and prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia, frequently in combination with basal cell markers such as p63 and high-molecular-weight cytokeratin. AMACR overexpression is also reported in a subset of renal cell carcinomas, hepatocellular carcinomas, and certain colorectal lesions, extending its research utility beyond prostate tissue studies. The reagent is generated in Rabbit, presented as a polyclonal antibody in an unconjugated format, and is intended for research use only in immunoblotting and chromogenic or fluorescent tissue staining protocols.
