Targeting the peroxisomal and mitochondrial enzyme alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase, the unconjugated mouse monoclonal offered by Antibodies.com supports prostate and renal cancer research, bile acid biosynthesis studies, and branched-chain fatty acid metabolism investigations. AMACR is a clinically important immunohistochemical marker that pathologists routinely use to discriminate prostatic adenocarcinoma and high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia from benign glandular tissue, and it is also evaluated in renal cell carcinoma, colorectal adenoma, and hepatocellular neoplasia studies.

Supplied as 100 µL of liquid antibody, the reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) and shows reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples. On Western blot the antibody resolves a single band near 42-46 kDa consistent with mature AMACR, while on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections it produces cytoplasmic granular staining in positive epithelial cells. The unconjugated mouse IgG format allows laboratories to choose their own anti-mouse secondary reagent for chromogenic IHC or chemiluminescent Western detection.

Storage recommendations include refrigeration, with aliquoting advised before long-term storage to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The flexibility of the unconjugated format also makes the antibody useful as a capture reagent in custom assay development.
