Raised in rabbit against the alsin protein encoded by ALS2, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence work on human and mouse specimens.
Alsin is a large GTPase regulator whose loss-of-function mutations cause juvenile amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS2), infantile-onset ascending hereditary spastic paralysis, and juvenile primary lateral sclerosis. The protein harbors DH/PH and VPS9 domains that modulate Rab5-dependent endosomal trafficking, and Anti-ALS2 Antibody enables studies of how these pathways support motor neuron maintenance and axon outgrowth. The 100 µl vial is best kept frozen at -20 °C, ideally aliquoted into single-use portions to limit freeze-thaw cycles on the glycerol-containing stock.
