This monoclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets ALPP (alkaline phosphatase, placental), a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored enzyme expressed on the syncytiotrophoblast of term placenta and widely used as an immunohistochemical marker for germ cell tumors, seminomas, and certain ovarian neoplasms. Raised in mouse and supplied as an unconjugated, purified preparation in 0.1M Tris-Glycine buffer (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol, the reagent is validated for Western blot and immunocytochemistry on human samples. Each vial ships at 100 µl and is intended for research use only, supporting studies of trophoblast differentiation, placental development, and tumor marker characterization in reproductive and cancer biology research.

Typical laboratory applications include confirming PLAP expression in choriocarcinoma cell lines such as JAR and BeWo, distinguishing placental-type alkaline phosphatase from intestinal, bone, or liver isoforms in mixed tissue lysates, and visualizing membrane-bound enzyme localization by immunostaining of cultured trophoblast models.
