Supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of unconjugated rabbit antiserum, this polyclonal antibody was raised against alpha tubulin, the ~50 kDa subunit of the microtubule cytoskeleton that is widely used as a western blot loading control.
Because the reagent is polyclonal, it binds multiple epitopes on the target protein, often producing stronger and more reproducible signals than monoclonal alternatives in standard blotting workflows. The unconjugated format leaves secondary antibody and detection chemistry to the researcher, supporting HRP, fluorophore, or biotin-based readouts.
Validated applications include Western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) on human samples. Alpha tubulin's near-universal expression across cell types makes it well suited for normalizing protein load between lanes or between tissue sections.
Aliquot upon arrival to minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Short-term storage refrigerated at 4°C is acceptable for active use, while longer-term storage frozen at -20°C preserves activity over months of routine bench work.
