Supplied by Antibodies.com, this monoclonal antibody is the clone 4C1 raised in mouse against Alpha-Synuclein, a small cytoplasmic protein strongly associated with Lewy bodies in Parkinson's disease and with amyloid pathology in Alzheimer's disease. The immunogen used to generate the antibody is recombinant human α-synuclein (amino acids 1–140) expressed in E. coli, and the reagent is purified by Protein G affinity chromatography. It is provided as a lyophilised product in 0.01 M phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.2), to be reconstituted with double-distilled water; the final concentration is reconstitution-dependent. The antibody is of the IgG2a isotype and is supplied unconjugated. It has been validated for ELISA and Western blot (WB) applications on human samples, with reactivity confirmed against recombinant α-synuclein. For shipping, the vial is dispatched at 4 °C; upon receipt it should be aliquoted and stored at –20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity. This 500 µg pack size is intended for research use only and is not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
