Mouse monoclonal antibody clone AFP-Y1, supplied by Antibodies.com, targets alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), an ~70 kDa oncofetal glycoprotein that circulates at high levels during fetal development and is widely measured as a serum biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma, non-seminomatous germ cell tumors, and neural tube defects. The unconjugated IgG1 reagent is presented as 100 µg of lyophilised material in a single vial and is validated for ELISA and western blot (WB) workflows, supporting quantitative immunoassays and confirmatory immunoblotting of cell or tissue lysates that express the human protein.

Because AFP shares structural homology with serum albumin, clone AFP-Y1 has been characterized to bind the human AFP molecule without significant cross-reactivity with albumin or closely related fetal serum proteins, which makes it a reliable reagent for patient sample screening, hepatocyte and hepatocellular carcinoma cell-line studies, and recombinant AFP expression analysis. The lyophilised format supports long shelf life when stored refrigerated; reconstitute in sterile PBS or ultrapure water before use, aliquot the working stock, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. Each vial ships from Antibodies.com with lot-specific documentation covering ELISA and WB starting dilutions and recommended buffer conditions for the unconjugated format.
