The Antibodies.com Anti-Alpha-catulin Antibody is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against the alpha-catulin protein (gene symbol CTNNAL1), a vinculin and alpha-catenin superfamily member that localizes to adherens junctions and participates in cytoskeletal anchoring and cell-cell adhesion. Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, this primary antibody reacts with human alpha-catulin and has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows in peer-reviewed studies of tumor invasion and cytoskeletal remodeling.

Alpha-catulin is expressed across epithelial tissues and has been characterized in non-small cell lung carcinoma and other solid tumor systems as a molecular marker linked to an invasive phenotype, actin reorganization at the leading edge, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition. Its sequence homology with α-catenin and vinculin makes it a useful probe for researchers dissecting how mechanical coupling at adherens junctions is rewired during metastatic progression, and the polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes across the target, which is helpful when probing clinical specimens where post-translational modification or isoform diversity may mask a single linear epitope.

Investigators studying focal adhesion dynamics, junctional complex assembly, or the metastatic cascade have used this reagent to compare alpha-catulin expression in matched normal and tumor tissue sections, as well as in whole-cell lysates prepared from human cell line panels. The unconjugated presentation enables flexible downstream detection, allowing labs to pair the antibody with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondaries of their choice depending on whether chromogenic IHC, immunofluorescence, or chemiluminescent Western blot detection is required.
