This Mouse monoclonal primary antibody distributed by Antibodies.com is directed against human alpha 1 Antichymotrypsin (α1-ACT, SERPINA3) and bears the clone designation B5B11. It is supplied as a 500 µg lyophilised preparation intended to be reconstituted with double-distilled water to a working concentration of 1 mg/mL. The reagent is an IgG1 (kappa) isotype produced in mouse using the Sp2/0-Ag14 fusion myeloma, with the immunogen being human plasma-derived α1-antichymotrypsin. Purification is performed by Protein G affinity chromatography, the antibody is supplied unconjugated, and it is validated for reactivity with human samples. The recommended Western Blot application uses a 1:5000 dilution (approximately 0.2 µg/mL), and the antibody is also suitable for ELISA (EIA). The formulation is a lyophilised powder in 0.01 M PBS at pH 7.2, with long-term storage recommended at -20 °C. α1-ACT is a circulating serine protease inhibitor that regulates chymotrypsin-like enzymes such as neutrophil cathepsin G and mast cell chymases, and is relevant to the acute-phase response, prostate cancer biomarker work, and Alzheimer's disease neurofibrillary pathology research.
