Supplied by Antibodies.com as a 200 µl aliquot of unconjugated polyclonal antiserum, this rabbit IgG reagent is raised against a full-length recombinant human ALKBH2 fusion protein and purified by antigen affinity chromatography. The antibody is formulated at 2 mg/mL in PBS (pH 7.3) containing 0.05% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.

Validated for western blot detection of endogenous ALKBH2 in human and mouse samples, the polyclonal format recognises multiple epitopes across the ALKBH2 primary sequence, improving signal when probing low-abundance nuclear fractions. ALKBH2 is a nuclear Fe(II)/2-oxoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase that reverses DNA alkylation damage through oxidative demethylation of bases such as 1-methyladenine and 3-methylcytosine. Loss of ALKBH2 sensitises cells to methylating agents, so the antibody supports studies of DNA repair kinetics, comparisons of repair-proficient and repair-deficient cell lines, and characterisation of the broader AlkB family.

Manufacturer-tested western blot conditions are a 1/800 primary dilution on 40 µg of lysate per lane resolved on 12% SDS-PAGE, paired with a 1/8000 secondary antibody dilution and a 2-minute exposure. Verified sample lysates include human fetal liver, human seminoma tissue, and RAW264.7 murine macrophage cells. Aliquot upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store refrigerated. For research use only.
