Affinity-purified polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against human tissue-nonspecific alkaline phosphatase (TNAP), the bone/liver/kidney isozyme encoded by the ALPL gene. Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, the antibody is validated in Western blot of protein lysates and in immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed tissue sections, where it serves as a marker of osteoblast activity, hepatocyte function, and renal tubular epithelium.

TNAP hydrolyzes pyrophosphate at the osteoblast surface, a step that permits hydroxyapatite crystal growth during bone mineralization; loss-of-function mutations in ALPL cause hypophosphatasia, and the enzyme is also measured clinically as a serum marker of cholestasis and bone turnover. Researchers studying skeletal development, liver pathology, or renal physiology rely on anti-TNAP antibodies to localize the protein in situ by IHC and to confirm expression by WB.

Because the reagent is unconjugated, end users pair it with a labeled secondary antibody of their choice for chromogenic or fluorescence detection. The 100 µl vial supports multiple staining runs and several Western blot membranes. Applications listed for this lot are immunohistochemistry and Western blot, with reactivity validated against human samples; aliquoting on first use limits freeze-thaw cycles and preserves antibody titer over time.
