Produced by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal IgG targets ALDOC (Aldolase C), a brain-enriched isoform of the fructose-bisphosphate aldolase family that catalyzes a reversible cleavage step in glycolysis. The antibody is supplied as a 100 µL unconjugated liquid reagent and is validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat tissue, supporting cross-species comparison of central nervous system glycolytic enzyme expression.

Because ALDOC is concentrated in cerebellar Purkinje cells, astrocytes, and other central nervous system cell populations, this reagent is widely used in neuroscience laboratories to map region-specific glycolytic enzyme distribution and to label Purkinje or astrocytic compartments in fixed tissue sections. Researchers investigating glioma biology, cerebellar development, neuronal metabolic reprogramming, and brain-region proteomics have employed ALDOC immunostaining to distinguish central nervous system tissue from peripheral preparations and to track changes in glycolytic enzyme abundance in injury or disease models.

For western blot, the antibody produces an expected band near 39 kDa corresponding to the predicted molecular weight of human ALDOC. Standard immunoreagent practice is recommended: aliquot upon first use to limit freeze-thaw cycles, store refrigerated for short-term working stocks, and use frozen long-term storage. For IHC, antigen retrieval conditions should be optimized for the specific fixation method, and lot-specific recommended starting dilutions are supplied with the vial and should be validated by the end user in representative positive-control samples.
