Raised in rabbit against human ALDH9A1, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of ready-to-use reagent and is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human tissue samples.

ALDH9A1 is a cytosolic NAD+-dependent aldehyde dehydrogenase that catalyzes the final step of carnitine biosynthesis, oxidizing gamma-trimethylaminobutyraldehyde to gamma-butyrobetaine, and it also displays activity toward aromatic and short-chain aliphatic aldehydes such as benzaldehyde and propionaldehyde. Researchers investigating liver and kidney carnitine metabolism, xenobiotic aldehyde detoxification, or ALDH9A1 expression in metabolic and tumor model systems use this reagent to detect the ~54 kDa protein band in cell lysates and to localize the enzyme in formalin-fixed tissue sections.

The antibody should be stored frozen in single-use aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity.
