Raised in rabbit against recombinant human ALDH5A1, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µL for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry applications. ALDH5A1 encodes succinic semialdehyde dehydrogenase (SSADH), the mitochondrial matrix enzyme that converts succinic semialdehyde to succinate during the final step of GABA catabolism, so the antibody is widely used in studies of neurotransmitter metabolism and the inherited neurometabolic disorder SSADH deficiency.
Validated on human antigen, the antibody supports immunoblotting of cell and tissue lysates, chromogenic or fluorescent IHC on fixed sections, and intracellular staining by flow cytometry. For storage, aliquot the vial upon arrival and keep at -20 °C in a manual defrost freezer, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity. The unconjugated format lets researchers pair it with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondaries of their choice, supporting flexible assay design across neuroscience, metabolic disease, and mitochondrial research workflows.
