ALDH2 (aldehyde dehydrogenase 2) is a mitochondrial matrix enzyme that oxidizes acetaldehyde to acetate during ethanol metabolism and contributes to the detoxification of reactive aldehydes such as 4-hydroxynonenal. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit against ALDH2 and is supplied as an unconjugated antiserum in a 100 µL vial, suitable for Western blot and ELISA workflows. The antibody detects the human ALDH2 protein and also shows reactivity against mouse and rat orthologs, supporting comparative studies in rodent models of alcohol metabolism, cardiac ischemia-reperfusion injury, and oxidative stress research. As a mitochondrial enzyme involved in aldehyde clearance and cardioprotective signaling, ALDH2 is a target of interest in studies of alcohol sensitivity, vascular biology, and metabolic disease. This product is intended for research use only and is provided without a conjugated tag, allowing users to pair it with secondary antibodies of their choice for immunodetection.
