ALDH2 (Aldehyde Dehydrogenase 2, mitochondrial) is a key enzyme of the mitochondrial matrix that catalyzes the NAD-dependent oxidation of acetaldehyde to acetate during ethanol metabolism and contributes to the clearance of reactive aldehydes generated by lipid peroxidation. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human ALDH2 protein and validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows.
The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum from a rabbit host and is intended for research use only. Its unconjugated format lets investigators pair the reagent with a chosen secondary antibody and chromogenic or fluorescence detection chemistry, supporting flexible assay design across blotting and tissue staining applications. The reagent recognizes endogenous ALDH2 in human samples and is suitable for studies of alcohol metabolism, mitochondrial biology, and oxidative stress responses, including work on common ALDH2 polymorphisms that alter enzymatic activity.
