Akt2 is a serine/threonine kinase of the AKT/PKB family that mediates insulin signaling and glucose uptake. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to residue 474 of human Akt2, a site within the C-terminal hydrophobic motif that becomes phosphorylated during pathway activation. The unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of liquid in a single vial and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, making it a practical choice for profiling AKT pathway activity in metabolic, cancer, and signal-transduction studies where Akt2 status is routinely read alongside PTEN and mTOR. Polyclonal coverage across multiple epitopes offers broader recognition of the target than a monoclonal reagent, which helps when comparing expression or modification across tissues, primary cells, and established cell lines.
