Anti-AKT1 (phospho T450) Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the AKT1 protein kinase (also called Protein Kinase B alpha), this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com selectively detects AKT1 only when threonine 450 carries a phosphate group. The T450 site sits in the conserved turn motif of AKT1 and is constitutively phosphorylated by mTORC2 in resting cells, so the antibody reports on AKT1 expression level and proper post-translational maturation rather than acute growth-factor-driven activation at S308 or S473. Supplied as 50 µl of unconjugated antiserum, the antibody is validated for western blot, reacts with human AKT1, and is used by labs investigating PI3K-AKT-mTOR signaling, insulin response, and phosphorylation-dependent regulation of cell survival and proliferation.
